Celebrate Niseko’s White Season Arrival: Stay Free at Hilton Niseko Village on the Day of the First Snow Through “Niseko’s Hatsuyuki Campaign”
October 15, 2009
NISEKO, Japan - On Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido the long awaited White Season is approaching. Hilton Niseko Village, which rests at the base of the Niseko Mountain Range beneath the peak of Niseko Annupuri, overlooking Mt. Yotei, has announced to start a special promotion as a part of "Niseko's Hatsuyuki Campaign" for those that just cannot wait for the White Season.
On the day that the first snow of the year falls at Hilton Niseko Village (known as "Hatsuyuki" in Japanese), all guests staying at the resort and checking out the day will be invited to stay free to celebrate the arrival of the White Season. As part of this special offer, valid from Friday, October 16th to Monday, November 30th, we will of course be treating you with the exceptional hospitality and style, that the Hilton Niseko Village is renowned.
Thanks to the cold Siberian air, Niseko is blessed with light, powdery snow that is famous around the world. In fact, the quality of the snow is so good that it is not unheard of for the snowfall to reach up to 12 meters in one season. For this reason, the area is very popular with both skiers and snowboarders - domestically and abroad - as Japan's foremost ski resort.
Last year, the first snowfalls were observed on Mt. Yotei on October 5th.
Terms and Conditions
Definition of "Hatsuyuki"
Every morning at 8:00 AM the Niseko Hilton Village Hotel staff will check a hotel van which is parked in front of the hotel entrance. If the van's front window is covered by natural snowfall by xx cm will be considered as "Hatsuyuki" (First Snowfall) in the definition. Snow conditions before or after 8:00 AM each day will not be considered.
Participation is limited to guests who have reserved Hilton Niseko Village rooms through the Hilton Worldwide Website (www.hilton.co.jp/niseko) or directly with Hilton Niseko Village Hotel Reservations (Tel: 0136-44-1111), and to those guests who will check out during the observation of "Hatsuyuki" as defined above.
All room charges for reservations made on the day of "Hatsuyuki," (including tax and service charges) are covered under the campaign. Additional expenses such as food and beverages purchased at the hotel, bath fees, etc. are not included in this offer.
Niseko comprises four areas - Annupuri, Higashiyama, Hirafu and Hanazono - all meeting at the summit some 1300 metres above sea level. A single ski pass allows visitors access to 48 km terrain, 61 runs and 38 lifts and gondolas. Only a few trails are more than 30 degrees in gradient, and there is an even mix of runs for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers. A large tract of back country terrain can also be accessed via the resort's gate system. The Niseko area is hailed as having some of the best quality snow on the planet with only eight percent water content. Ski runs are open from 08:30am in November and run well into April, and night lighting until 9.00pm offers extended ski hours during the Winter months.
