Chef Ogawa Of Hilton Niseko Village To Represent Japan In International Gourmet Festival

NISEKO, Japan - Hilton Niseko Village today announced that Chef Manabu Ogawa, executive chef of Japanese Restaurant REN at the resort hotel, will represent Japan and work alongside internationally-renowned chefs in a prestigious gourmet festival, “Midsummer Nights Feast”. Held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 1 to 8 July, the event pays tribute to the five elements – Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space.

Five chefs will present different culinary concepts that include a “Tribute to Mother Earth” by 3-star Michelin Chef Benoit Vidal from France and a “Land of Ominiscient Waters” by 2-Star Michelin Chef Moshik Roth from the Netherlands.

Representing the Japanese cuisine and known for his unique cooking style specializing in food presentation and sauces, Chef Manabu Ogawa will present “A Breath of Fresh Mountain Air” by infusing traditional Japanese cooking with a touch of French-styled cooking into quality produce from Hokkaido. Some of the culinary dishes he prepared for this event will also be available at Japanese restaurant from this summer.

About Chef Manabu Ogawa
Manabu Ogawa – Executive Chef, Japanese Restaurant REN, Hilton Niseko Village Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Manabu Ogawa began his career as a chef in 1994 at the age of 20. During his seventeen years as a chef, he has also worked at the award-winning French restaurant, “Moliere” in Sapporo and Prince Hotel in Niseko, Hokkaido. He started his career as Japanese Chef and Teppanyaki Chef after going through an extensive training at Hilton Tokyo and Hilton Osaka in 2008 before he was appointed Executive Chef at Japanese restaurant, REN, at Hilton Niseko Village in 2009. Manabu's Japanese cooking is influenced by classic French cuisine with an emphasis on best quality produce of Hokkaido.
