BIRMINGHAM, UK - Staff at Hilton Birmingham Metropole have spent the last year working hard to raise vital funds for Molly Olly's Wishes following a stream of fundraising activities, raising over £6,000 for the organisation.

Molly Olly's Wishes provides emotional and financial support to children and families of children throughout the UK with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. The money raised helps children and their families who need additional help beyond that offered by the NHS and its supporting bodies.

Employees at Hilton Birmingham Metropole committed to take part in a 12-month fundraising campaign for the charity and organised a range of activities from cake sales, raffles and a staff static bike challenge, to more extreme activities such as the Three Peaks Challenge. General Manager Patrick Stapleton and Director of Operations Max Flude even finished the Derby Sportive - a cycle challenge which covers a 100 mile route from Derby to the Peak District. Following the triumphant efforts from all the staff, the team handed over a cheque of £6,074 to the charity.

Patrick Stapleton, general manager, Hilton Birmingham Metropole, said, "We are delighted with the dedication our employees have shown to raise the amount we have for this great cause. Molly Olly's Wishes is very close to the hearts of the local community, with it being based just a few miles away in Warwickshire, and it's great to give something back to say thanks for all of the good work they do in the local area and beyond.

"Thirteen of our employees successfully completed the Three Peaks Challenge, and I myself completed the cycle ride which were both extremely difficult, but knowing that many had donated so generously, got us through the finish line, so thanks to those individuals and businesses."

Rachel Ollerenshaw, Trustee at Molly Olly's Wishes, said: "The children we support through Molly Olly's Wishes often find visits to hospitals and their clinics tedious as they are without home comforts and they are confined to beds or wards for long periods of time. We use the funds to provide therapeutic toys and books and grant wishes that support and provide equipment or suitable entertainment to make those dark days brighter. We are so grateful for all of the generosity and hard work to the staff and donators who have helped to raise such a great total."
