Edinburgh Hotel Guests Aim To Make A Little Go A Long Way

EDINBURGH, Scotland -  Guests at Hilton Worldwide’s Edinburgh hotels will be using their small change to make a big difference to disadvantaged children over the coming months as part of Hilton in the Community Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign.

“Small Change, Big Difference” will be running in all three of the Hilton Edinburgh hotels, Caledonian Hilton Edinburgh Hotel, Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor Hotel and Hilton Edinburgh Airport Hotel throughout October, November and December this year. The campaign invites hotel guests staying at selected Hilton Worldwide hotels to add an optional £1 onto their room bill during their stay. The campaign has now raised over £835,000 for children’s charities since its inception in 2004.

Hilton in the Community Foundation has supported children in Edinburgh since 2000 with grants to several local good causes including Waverley Care, Edinburgh Sick Kids Foundation and Radio Lollipop.

All proceeds raised from the campaign in Edinburgh will be used to support disadvantaged children through Hilton in the Community Foundation’s grants programme. Money raised in the UK and Ireland will be ring-fenced for charities working with disadvantaged children while the Foundation will ensure that every net penny raised is distributed to these organisations. These grants will then support a range of projects including the provision of specialist educational and sporting equipment, care facilities and training and activity based learning.

This year the Foundation is also running the fundraiser in Continental Europe. In total 128 hotels in 17 countries will be involved in the programme helping to maximise the money raised.
