AL AIN, United Arab Emirates - In partnership with JohnsonDiversey, Hilton Al Ain recently hosted more than 30 children from two local schools in a community event to help promote environmental conservation in recognition of World Environment Day, on 5 June.

Students from Al Ain International School and Al Ain Junior School were joined by Hilton Al Ain team members, representatives from the Center of Waste Management and Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, as well as event partners, JohnsonDiversey, for a day of interactive lectures and competitions on sustainability and recycling.

Josef Mikulka, director of operations, Hilton Al Ain said: "As a Hilton hotel, we take great pride in playing our part in helping to conserve, reuse and recycle as part of our wide approach to support the environment and sustainability remains a core aspect of our business model. It was a pleasure to host more thirty Al Ain school children here today as we aim to encourage the entire community to help make a difference all year round."

Hilton Al Ain's ongoing waste management programme and energy and water saving efforts were highlighted throughout the day as the children familiarized themselves with basic and impactful eco-measures such as use a glass of water when brushing their teeth instead of having the water running, separate the garbage from the materials that can be recycled, switch off light and air-conditioning when they are not being used and some other activities that can be carry out at home and at school.

This year, Hilton Al Ain partnered with JohnsonDiversey on its Soap for Hope initiative, giving hotel guests the opportunity to donate their unused soap for recycling purposes, before it is delivered to people in need. This is another step in the hotel's efforts to promote sustainability within the property and across the emirate.
