Hilton Anatole To Bring Kid-Friendly Entertainment Through Geppetto’s Marionette Theater
Le Theatre de Marionette Makes the Hilton Anatole its New Home Starting July 2014

DALLAS - Hilton Anatole today announced its partnership with renowned Dallas-based puppet company, Le Theatre de Marionette. Construction started in May to create Geppetto's Olde World Style venue located in the Tower section of the Anatole. Shows officially start this July and will feature several productions including its kickoff production, "The Little Mermaid," as well as "Hansel and Gretel," "Pinocchio" and "Sleeping Beauty," among others.
Founded in 1992 in Arlington, Texas, Le Theatre de Marionette has produced and performed countless shows for audiences in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Generations of Dallas families have now seen the company perform at theaters, libraries and museums in the metroplex.
Le Theatre de Marionette owner, John Hopkins, hopes Geppetto's Olde World Style venue will become a top attraction for local families and visitors alike.
"We're building a world-class marionette theater at a wonderful hotel," Hopkins said. "Geppetto's will present classic children's stories using custom, hand-carved marionettes, spectacular staging and musical scores recorded in New York and Los Angeles."
Although the theater will boast many high-tech features, Geppetto's will still embrace its European roots with a look and feel of a 17th century toymaker's workshop, complete with hand-hewn wood tables awash with warm, vibrant colors.
Le Theatre de Marionette started working with the Anatole as part of its Christmas at the Anatole and "Sparkle!" annual holiday celebration.
"We're pleased to have John and the entire Le Theatre de Marionette team as a permanent part of the Hilton Anatole," said Bob McPherrin, director of sales and marketing for the Hilton Anatole. "As we host many families throughout the year, it's important we have family-friendly entertainment available within the hotel - and it's exciting to add a new attraction to the mix through Geppetto's. We had such positive feedback from the holiday shows, we thought it was the perfect fit to have ongoing performances for guests to enjoy."
Geppetto's will have a concessions stand with refreshments such as popcorn, candy and soft drinks available for purchase. In addition, a gift shop with marionettes and other unique children's toys and souvenirs will open after each show. Tickets for children ages 0-18 are $16 and tickets for adults are $18 per show. Tickets may be purchased in groups of 15 tickets or more to receive a discounted rate of $10 per ticket for children and adults alike.Ticket sales began June 1 for Geppetto's inaugural show of "Hansel and Gretel," which will be at the Anatole July 19 through 21. Geppetto's will debut the all-new "The Little Mermaid" on July 26.
