Hilton and Hampton by Hilton St George’s Park Announce Appointment of General Manager

BURTON-ON-TRENT, U.K. - Hilton and Hampton by Hilton St. George's Park, Burton upon Trent, has announced the appointment of Greg Crawford as the general manager of Hilton Worldwide's first dual-branded property in the UK and the home of the Football Association's landmark national Football Centre.

When St George's Park opens its gates in summer 2012, football, business and leisure guests will have a host of options all under one roof with a 142 bedroom upscale Hilton hotel, and an 86 bedroom mid-market Hampton by Hilton hotel for the value-conscious guest.

Commenting on his appointment, Greg Crawford said, "This is a very exciting time for Hilton Worldwide and from a professional point of view it's the opportunity of a lifetime to be opening the company's first dual-brand property here in the UK."

Greg has worked within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio for almost ten years. For seven of those years he worked in senior management positions at a number of different hotels in the Midlands, but more recently held the position of general manager at the upscale DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge.

During the run up to the opening of Hilton and Hampton by Hilton St George's Park, Greg is working from pre-opening offices located at the nearby Burton College, as well as being regularly onsite to oversee the development of the two of the hotels. 

Crawford said, "A considerable focus over the coming months will be exploring business opportunities both nationally and within the local area - as well as working closely with The FA and FA Learning on the significant level of activity happening at St George's Park."

"In addition to being used by business from the FA, Hilton and Hampton by Hilton St. George's Park will be open to all guests for a variety of different purposes, including conference and exhibitions within our 500 seat conference centre and 250 person education complex which features the latest state of the art technology."

"Another key focus will be on the upscale fitness and health facilities, which will include a range of spa services available to both hotel guests and local residents. We will also be looking to attract leisure travellers visiting local attractions including the National Forest, the National Arboretum, and Alton Towers theme park, which is approximately 19 miles from St George's Park."
