AUCKLAND, New Zealand -  Hilton Auckland today announced a partnership with leading New Zealand fashion brand Salasai. Designed by Kirsha Whitcher, Salasai is winning over national and international buyers and fashion lovers. Stylish people gravitate towards stylish places and with that in mind, Hilton Auckland and Salasai have teamed up for NZ Fashion Week 2010.

This year Salasai’s fashion show will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday 23 September 2010 at Hilton Auckland. Hosted on the spacious Exhibition Floor, models will be “walking on water” with the venue located on Princes Wharf, 300 metres out to sea. The 400 attendees at the Salasai Fashion Week Show will be immersed in a dimension of Sacrificial Grace, the theme that inspired the exciting new Winter Collection for 2011.

“Sacrificial Grace” is inspired by the stark beauty of cults and sects. The collection draws on themes of restraint, modesty and naivety, using an almost angelic colour palette of muted creams and white as the base, helping define austerity and consistency in the range. The innocence in this collection is exemplified in modest pleated trousers and knee-length skirts, with eerie digital prints of landscapes and symmetrical patch imagery worked onto silk garments.

Fashion show attendees at Hilton Auckland for the Salasai show can take the opportunity to try “Sacrificial Grace,” a new cocktail designed by Bellini’s Mixologist William Mahe and inspired by Salasai’s theme. William Mahe commented, “The new cocktail is inspired by the theme of Sacrificial Grace. We’ve created a smooth, fruity and almost moody cocktail with a garnish of pink rose petals. The contrast of colour and pink rose petals really compliments the theme, with a hint of exotic from the beautiful scent you take in with every sip.”
