Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center Celebrates One Year Anniversary
By Being Ranked #8 in Service for all Full-Service Hilton Hotels in North America
August 24, 2007
BATON ROUGE, La. - Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center, formerly the Heidelberg and Capitol House Hotel will celebrate it's first anniversary on August 30th. Just one year ago, the hotel opened it's doors after a much anticipated renovation.
The most recent rankings for Hilton Hotels' "VOICE OF THE CUSTOMER" survey has ranked the new Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center as number 8 in service amongst all full-service Hilton's in North America. The hotel ranks number 14 overall which includes categories such as guest loyalty, service, and problem free stay. The survey is sent to all guests following their stay in one of the 242 full-service Hilton Hotels across the country.
"This comes as no surprise to us," says Austin Vandevate, General Manager of the Hilton Capitol Center. "We've hired an exceptional staff that is proud of the history as well as the beautiful renovations of our hotel. We're dedicated to training and arming them with the knowledge they need to deliver an enriched experience and exceptional service for our guest. We've had an incredible first year!"
During the first year of operation the hotel has hosted numerous conventions, social functions, weddings and business travelers alike. The success of these events has encouraged the hotel to implement other special events due to the demand from the Baton Rouge community. The hotel host several signature events including its "Fabulous Flapper Jazz Brunch", "High-Tini-Tuesday's", and "High-Tea" every Saturday from 2-4pm in the hotel's lobby. The Kingfish restaurant has become a local favorite!
The hotel was formerly known as The Heidelberg and Capitol House hotel and reopened its doors on August 30th, 2006, for the Historical Foundation of Louisiana's Annual Gala after undergoing $70 million in renovations. The hotel has been accepted as one of National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of the Historical Hotels of America.
