BEIJING -  On 26 November 2010, a group of 20 kids from Beijing Sun Village Special Children Aid Centre visited Hilton Beijing Capital Airport for making and decorating cookies with general managers of Hilton Hotels  & Resorts from the Greater China region while they had a happy afternoon tea time.Sun Village is a charity organization for children whose parents are imprisoned. The hotel offered a special buffet luncheon and a donation of living necessities to the village.

The event commenced with buffet lunch at 360o restaurant and followed with the children’s decorating their chef's hats and wearing the aprons. Later, they were brought to pastry kitchen to start the session of cookie making, where they were instructed by Pastry Chef.

The session for decorating the cookies with general managers took place at mezzanine level and it was the highlight of the event. As the GMs of Hilton Hotels & Resorts of Greater China region were attending a GM meeting at Hilton Beijing Capital Airport, the hotel specially created this interesting session of “Executive Chef Looking for Their Sous Chefs.” All the aprons were prepared in advanced with names of GMs for each kid. When GMs came to event place they looked for their sous chefs who were wearing the aprons with their names and then worked together on the cookies decoration in a limited time.

Timothy Soper, vice president, Operations of Greater China & Mongolia, served as judge in order to choose the best artwork based on their performance. Since all the cookies were so outstanding, each kid was given a pilot bear toy by a big bear who was acting by hotel staff. The event closed up with a group photo of general managers and kids.

To ensure the smooth running of the event, the hotel made an arrangement of car, chef hats, aprons and food before the event and brought cooking oil and fruits for Sun Village. The group photo of kids and GMs was also printed on a beautiful card and send to kids after the event.

As a company with social responsibility, Hilton Beijing Capital Airport has attached importance to local community development and tries to deliver its own contribution and care through communication with vulnerable groups.
