Hilton Birmingham Metropole And mclcreate Team Up In A Brazilian-Themed Showcase

BIRMINGHAM, England - A Brazilian-themed showcase of event technology and entertainment attracted a crowd of over 300 event professionals and brand representatives from across the country.

The evening was a collaborative event between Hilton Birmingham Metropole and event company mclcreate, inviting clients, event planners, agencies and technology providers to experience hospitality and state-of-the-art technology.

Guests were hosted across the Kings and the Palace suites at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, enjoying a Brazilian cocktail reception and a chance to play Angry Birds Rio on a giant plasma screen, before going on to dine and explore the technology showcase.

An impressive projection mapping show featuring three giant cubes formed the backdrop, with additional set displays created by Eventologists. There was also musical entertainment and speeches, compered by John Dalziel of Midlands network, Free Radio.

Tim Spencer, managing director at mclcreate, said, "This event has been very much about providing a valuable experience and demonstrating that we have moved from being solely a tech provider to providing a total events solution. In addition to its Rio theme, which saw guests learning to dance samba and mix the caipirinha, the occasion underlined the inexorable rise of digital technology in the events sector.

The event was organised using getplanningTM, Hilton Worldwide's online cloud-based service. This allows planners, suppliers and all associated parties to communicate via an online workspace, which hosts all documents and correspondence for an event.

During the event, delegates were able to interact with the event and its organisers via ‘into', the customisable mobile application developed by mclcreate for event organisers to drive participation and delegate engagement.
