Hilton Birmingham Metropole Wins Two Hilton Worldwide Awards

BIRMINGHAM, UK - Hilton Birmingham Metropole has been awarded an accolade in the Hilton Worldwide Blue Energy Awards, ahead of 201 other Hilton Hotels in the U.K. and Europe, including 21 hotels in London and eight in Paris. The Birmingham hotel was awarded the Business Development Initiative award at the brand's recent internal awards, which serve to highlight and reward excellent creative initiative and development.

The win was secured following the launch of an online ordering system, which was originally created to allow those hosting dinners at the hotel to pre-order wine. Hilton Birmingham Metropole's business development team, along with its reservations manager, finance manager and event planning manager were all involved in the creation to ensure that all expertise - from customer feedback to processing - were considered.

The system initially heightened not only guest experience and hotel efficiency, but also the hotel's security and project management. Both project managers and event planners are allowed access to the system as a means of managing attendee numbers and beverage quantity for dinners, events and functions.

In the first eight months of operation, the system generated revenue of more than £71,000 and the hotel has now grown the system to be utilised for pre-ordering wines, dinner sales, pre-order of lunches, deposits for Christmas parties and the team is planning to provide further selections.

Along with winning the Business Development Initiative accolade, Hilton Birmingham Metropole has also received an award from Hilton Worldwide for the Most Improved Hotel in Europe. This follows the successful introduction of the 'make it right' training programme, which highlights the importance of following-up any customer complaints, with the goal of ultimately heightening customer satisfaction.
