DARWIN, Northern Territory - The Northern Territory's only five star CBD hotel, Hilton Darwin, wants more companies to consider the Territory for events.

"The Northern Territory's unique personality brings an inimitable extra dimension to a meeting or conference," said Natalia Kostov, manager business development MICE, Northern Territory, Hilton Worldwide.

"Darwin is Australia's only tropical harbour city, it's the gateway to the Outback and its closeness to Asia gives it a very different pulse to other Australian cities. The destination gives events an exciting edge and Hilton Darwin's extensive conference and meeting facilities provide the perfect stage for companies to come and tell their story."

Overlooking Darwin Harbour, which is larger than Sydney's, Hilton Darwin offers 236 newly refurbished guest rooms within walking distance of all major corporations, government offices and the Darwin Convention Centre. It is 15 minutes from Darwin International Airport.

The hotel also offers Darwin's only Executive Lounge - serving continental breakfast, evening drinks and canapés - and a 24-hour Business Centre. High speed wireless internet is available throughout the hotel.

A dedicated events floor on level two, overlooking the expansive lobby, is purpose-built for business functions and offers five meeting spaces, including an Executive Boardroom accommodating up to 15, and a Grand Ballroom seating up to 300, that can be divided into two rooms. The glass walled Signatures Room is perfect for small to medium sized groups of up to 120, while the Ambassador Room is ideal for breakout sessions or a small banquet of up to 40 guests.

The hotel team strives to bring a unique Northern Territory flavour to its events. Options include:

"We are so pleased to be providing such a distinct meetings and event offering in conjunction with the complete refurbishment of Hilton Darwin," said Martin Kendall, area general manager, Northern Territory, Hilton Worldwide. "We are committed to the corporate market in the Northern Territory and our spaces and exciting programs only go further to cement this."
