Hilton Dublin Rolls Out The Red Carpet For Chinese Travellers
Chinese Guests Receive Hilton Huanying Treatment

DUBLIN - Hilton Dublin today announced the launch of its Hilton Huanying programme in time for the Chinese New Year. Hilton Huanying is a unique Hilton Worldwide programme for Chinese travellers currently available at more than 60 hotels in 16 countries. Derived from the Chinese word for "welcome", Hilton Huanying enables travellers, agents and tour operators to book participating hotels with confidence, knowing that they will meet the expectations and cultural needs of Chinese travellers visiting key international destinations.
As part of the programme, Hilton Dublin will greet Chinese-speaking guests with a welcome letter in Mandarin, offered by four of the hotel’s Chinese-speaking staff. Hilton Huanying also ensures that Chinese travellers can enjoy a minimum of one Chinese TV channel at the hotel; a traditional Chinese breakfast of congee, dim sum and dough fritters; Chinese tea bags and kettle in guest rooms; and two pairs of bedroom slippers.
2012 is the Chinese year of the dragon and Hilton Dublin is celebrating the occasion and marking the launch of Hilton Huanying by introducing traditional Bento Box lunches to the menu in its bustling Stil Bar and Lounge. The Bento Boxes include a range of Chinese delicacies, priced at €12.50, which will be available from Monday to Friday for the two weeks following the start of the Chinese New Year.
As part of the global Chinese New Year Celebration, all participating Hilton Huanying properties will mark the Year of the Dragon with several distinctive offerings, including:
- Featuring displays of oranges and tangerines, symbolic of wealth and good luck in hotel lobbies
- Red envelopes containing 1,000 Hilton HHonors bonus points will be presented to each Hilton Huanying guest upon check in. The envelopes, symbolizing luck for the coming year, are traditional Chinese New Year gifts and are typically filled with money
- Special menu selections featuring traditional holiday fare will be available for guests and groups planning to celebrate at participating hotels. Authentic cold and hot dishes will be offered – ranging from steamed fish and minced beef to poached bok choy and wok-fried noodles – along with fresh fruit platters
General Manager of Hilton Dublin, Erwin Verhoog said, “According to Tourism Ireland, the Chinese market is expected to be Ireland’s fastest-growing tourism segment over the next five years and we have already seen an increase in the number of Chinese visitors to our hotel."
“The London Olympics are expected to provide a gateway for visitors to Ireland and the visa waiver scheme, introduced by the government last year, will certainly benefit inbound tourism and the number of long-haul travellers making the hop across to Ireland. Last year, the number of Chinese groups visiting Ireland during summer 2011 doubled on the previous year and this trend is set to continue.”
Hilton Huanying was introduced by Hilton Hotels & Resorts in 2011 following research into the requirements of its Chinese guests together with unique market insight, as a result of more than 20 year’s experience operating in China. Hilton Worldwide intends to expand its presence in China to more than 100 properties in the next five years.
