Hilton Hawaiian Village To Host Inaugural Great Waikiki Beer Festival
Event to Benefit Hawai‘i’s Wounded Warriors

HONOLULU - Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resorwill host the first ever Great Waikiki Beer Festival from Aug. 28-30, 2015. The festival will include Hawai‘i's largest ever beer event featuring more than 100 beers from brewers here in Hawaii and the mainland. A food and beer pairing will provide an opportunity for attendees to talk story with some of Hawai‘i's top local brewers to learn about the art of brewing and beer pairing.
The three-day beer festival will include the following events:
Friday, Aug. 28 (6-9 p.m.)--"Taste of the Aina"
Rooftop Garden, Mid-Pacific Conference Center at Hilton Hawaiian Village
Tickets: $120 per person
"Taste of the Aina," will kick off the beer festival on Aug. 28. The event will offer guests a farmto-table experience featuring a five-course menu, all comprised of locally-sourced ingredients. Executive Chef Charles Charbonneau worked closely with several of Hawaii's top brewers to pair the perfect brew with each course. Menu offerings include a Big Island Summer Salad, Inamona Charred Ahi, Shinsato Pork, Hawai‘i Rancher's Strip Loin and Kona Brewing Wailua Wheat Carrot Cake. Local brewers will also be on hand to discuss their craft and share the art of beer pairing. Live entertainment will be provided by Kamuela.
Saturday, Aug. 29 (6-9 p.m.)--"Great Waikiki Beer Festival: A Celebration of 100 Beers" Hilton Hawaiian Village Great Lawn (fronting Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon)
Tickets: $80 per person or $90 at the door. ($100 for early access at 5 p.m.)
A 15 per cent discount is being offered to military ID card-holders
On Saturday, Aug. 29, attendees will be able to select from more than 100 beers at the Great Waikiki Beer Festival on the open-air Great Lawn. Each attendee will receive 10 four-ounce beer tickets and three food tickets. Beer-friendly dishes such as Bavarian Bratwurst in a Hoagie Bun, Chili Kettle Chip Nachos, Yakitori Chicken Skewers with Fried Rice, Pork and Jalapeno Cheese Tamale Bites, and Onion Rings with Sriracha Aioli will be on the menu. Participating brewers include Kona Brewing Company, Maui Brewing Company, Portland, OR breweries Cascade Brewing and Gigantic Brewing Company, as well as Belching Beaver Brewery and Iron First Brewing Company in San Diego, CA. There will also be live performances by Anuhea, Backwards Shaka and Kailua Bay Buddies. Advance purchase tickets are $80 per person which include 10 four-ounce beer samples, food, live entertainment and complimentary self-parking. Ticket holders will also be able to purchase additional four ounce tastings for $2 per tasting. Military personnel with ID cards are eligible for a special discount of 15 percent off the ticket price.
Sunday, Aug. 30 (9 a.m.-3 p.m.)--"Rehab Beer Brunch"

The celebration will wrap up with a "Rehab Beer Brunch" on Sunday, Aug. 30. A festive Brewer's Brunch awaits, featuring island brunch favorites along with special $4 beer selections and Bloody Marys. No reservations are required.
The Great Waikiki Beer Festival is a benefit for Hawaii's Wounded Warriors and their families.
"The beer craze has been reaching new highs all across the nation," said Scott Hamilton, director of food and beverage, Hilton Hawaiian Village. "Our festival will allow the public to sample some truly unique beer and at the same time, support a great cause."
