Hilton London Bankside Hires Stephen Atkinson as Head of Events and Planning

LONDON - Hilton London Bankside has appointed Stephen Atkinson as head of event planning. Stephen joins from the Hilton Park Lane where he worked as conference and banqueting manager for the last eight years. Managing a team of 20 people, Stephen will be the first point of contact for all meetings and events including the opulent Bankside Ballroom accommodating up to 700 guests.
Stephen Atkinson, head of event planning for Hilton London Bankside says: "Working with Better Bankside and London & Partners we are already starting to see a surge of interest in our banqueting and meetings facilities. I am pleased to say that we have already secured our first Christmas party for 70 guests that will be held in our Globe room. We have also booked our first awards dinner for 500 guests which will be held in the Bankside Ballroom. Not only that but we have just confirmed our first residential conference for a Multi-National company which will take 150 rooms. It is a very exciting and busy time for the hotel."
James Clarke, general manager at Hilton London Bankside says: "We are confident that Stephen's passion for the venue space and love of the surrounding area will rub off on clients coming to see the venue. We are confident that his ever expanding little black book of contacts will pay dividends when driving bookings for the venue."
Hilton London Bankside boasts over 1,000 square metres of event space including nine flexible meeting rooms and the luxurious Bankside Ballroom, featuring beautiful high ceilings and its own exclusive entrance making it ideal for road shows and conferences. All meeting rooms have access to an extensive foyer and reception area. The space is equally suitable for hosting smaller meetings as it is banquets, weddings and larger scale events.
While working at Hilton Park Lane as conference banqueting manager Stephen scooped the GM Special Recognition award, Employee of the month. He also spent seven years working as Conference and Banqueting Service Manager at the Royal Air Force Club accommodating up to 250 guests.
