LONDON - Hilton London Islington, which has just completed a £5.2 million guest room refurbishment, has appointed Stefanie Hardy as general manager. Situated in the heart of Angel Islington and next to the Business Design Centre, Hardy brings over 20 years' hospitality experience to her first role as general manager.

Prior to joining Hilton London Islington, Hardy spent ten years working at numerous Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties across the globe and, for the last five years, has been director of business development at London Hilton on Park Lane, where she recently oversaw the commemoration of the landmark property's 50th anniversary.

In Hardy's last four commercial roles as director of business development with Hilton, she has gained valuable insight into different cultures and business practises in the upscale full service market, working in London as well as the Middle East and Asia.

Before joining Hilton Worldwide, Hardy started her career as a graduate trainee manager at Royal Scot Hotel in Edinburgh, and then gained experience with Marriott Hotels. With a background in all areas of hotel sales and operations, she has covered a range of sectors including front office, reservations, housekeeping, leisure management and food and beverage management. During her time in sales and revenue, she also worked in the conference, corporate, entertainment, exhibition and travel trade markets, both on-property and regionally.

Stefanie Hardy, general manager at Hilton London Islington, commented, "I'm delighted to join Hilton London Islington at such an exciting time in the hotel's development.  Our recent £5.2 million guest room refurbishment has transformed the property and we look forward to delivering a new and improved guest experience, leading the way for upscale accommodation in Islington and the surrounding areas."

Completed in June 2013, the £5.2 million guest room refurbishment at Hilton London Islington added six new bedrooms to the hotel’s inventory, bringing the total number to 190. The hotel, situated in the centre of fashionable Islington, has been inspired and influenced by its close proximity to the Square Mile. Each room displays subtle hints of London, with a sleek city style. In-room features are influenced by the materials and fabrics associated with a tailored pin-stripe suit creating a classic British feel.
