LONDON - Hilton London Metropole, one of the largest conference hotels in the UK and Europe, welcomes two new senior members to its sales team. The appointments of Jackie Boughton, director of sales, and Paul Weild, MICE sales manager, strengthen further the hotel's highly regarded conference, meeting and events team with both bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new positions.

Prior to being appointed as director of sales at Hilton London Metropole, Jackie Boughton was head of sales at Wembley Stadium, overseeing the launch and growth of the arena over the last five years. Boughton's knowledge and skills acquired, over 35 years, enabled her to achieve great successes during her time at Wembley Stadium.

During her career Boughton has been shortlisted for Conference and Incentive Travel's top "Power 50" list. She also has an active role within the West London Business Chamber of Commerce as a board member, as well as a number of other industry consortiums.

Paul Weild brings over eight years of corporate sales practice to his new MICE sales manager role, having previously worked for Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Hotel du Vin, Sodexo Prestige and Holiday Inn Hotels.

During his career Weild has built strong relationships with corporate, meeting and leisure clients, with a reputation of providing an exceptional level of service. Weild's extensive knowledge of sales and marketing in meetings and events, places him in an excellent position to expand upon Hilton London Metropole's well-known conference and events offerings.

Avner On, general manager, Hilton London Metropole, said, "I am thrilled to welcome both Jackie Boughton and Paul Weild to our sales team. They have been brought on together to strengthen and revitalise the hotel's strategy of providing a higher level of service to the MICE market."

Hilton London Metropole, situated in the heart of London, underwent a £750,000 refurbishment of the hotel's meeting facilities during 2012. The hotel boasts two large conference suites, each with the capacity to hold 1,600 people and a third theatre style suite, which caters to 800. The meeting rooms refurbishment is part of an ongoing programme of upgrades at the hotel that will be continuing into 2013.
