April 25, 2015
ODAWARA, Kanagawa, Japan - Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa is pleased to unveil its ultimate family-friendly getaway with a new Ninja Adventure Package that leaps into action from the moment guests arrive.
The exclusive one-night package available from April 25, 2015 to March 31, 2016 includes a Ninja costume presented upon check-in for use during the stay along with an in-room welcome gift of exclusive Ninja amenities. As kids complete Ninja tasks during their stay, they will be awarded individual pieces from a specially designed Ninja puzzle that combine to mark their official 'certification' as a member of the Hilton Odawara Ninja. Kids also receive two secret Ninja keepsakes to take home as a memento of their stay.
In addition, a breakfast buffet at Brasserie Flora is included, featuring delicious local produce such as kamaboko (fish cake) and wasabi-zuke (pickled wasabi) as well as all-time international favorites like pastries, eggs, hashed browns, bacon and sausages. Japanese breakfast includes rice, miso soup, pickled plums and baked fish (himono). Find and eat a Ninja-marked item at breakfast to receive a piece of the Ninja puzzle.
Designed for children between the ages of four and twelve, the highlight of the package features a range of special activities such as Ninja training provided by the hotel's Ninja staff and swim activities at the hotel's stunning Bade Zone. Relax post covert-operation at Hilton Odawara's famed hot spring baths, followed by a unique photo opportunity as young Ninjas are presented with pieces of the puzzle to mark the completion of their secret Ninja training.
Beyond the Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa, the package also entitles guests to undertake training suspended in the air at the nearby Forest Adventure Park as well as an exclusive option to purchase a special Ninja cap allowing visitors to experience 39 exciting activities over 8 courses at a special rate.
With infinite fun, a glimpse of Japan's legendary Ninja traditions for kids and exceptional value for parents, this action-packed family package is a one-of-a-kind getaway opportunity.
The package starts at Y15,743 including tax and service charge, excluding a hot spring tax (applied to 12 years and older, Y150 per person) and resort fee (applied to elementary school kids and older, Y1,000 per person per night).
The price is per person, assuming double occupancy, and is subject to change according to season and room types. Free for pre-school children who do not require a bed.
"Family vacations are about creating lasting memories and there is no better way to do this than to engage kids in adventurous, fun activities," says Andreas Boettger, general manager, Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa. "Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa is dedicated to setting the highest benchmark for hospitality, especially when it comes to realizing the wildest dreams of our youngest guests."
NOTE TO EDITOR:
Ninja were employed by Japan's rulers for their stealthy skills in ninjutsu - the art of the Ninja - until about 150 years ago, but their legendary spirit lives on in modern culture through manga, anime and films. Clad head-to-toe in dark clothing, the masters of stealth and disguise were also specialists in using shuriken or hidden weapons like throwing stars. Odawara's most famous Ninja clan was led by Fuma Kotaro who served the Hojo clan, governing the Kanto region during the Sengoku era of feudal Japan. The Fuma clan was famed for their horseback guerrilla warfare and naval espionage.
