SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Hilton Palacio del Rio is committed to environmental sustainability and will participate in Earth Hour 2013. Earth Hour is a global movement uniting people to protect the planet. Towards the end of March every year, Earth Hour brings together communities from across the world celebrating a commitment to the planet by switching off lights for one designated hour.

Hilton Palacio del Rio will participate in Earth Hour by dimming or switching off non-essential lights during Earth Hour at 8:30 p.m. local time Saturday, March 23. Hilton's exterior lights will display the Earth Hour logo, 60+, all night. Interior Digital Display signs will encourage guests to turn off all unnecessary lights in their rooms during this hour. Hotel guests are invited to the lobby for "Cowboy Legends," told by a local cowboy musician and storyteller.

The River's Edge Café and Patio bar, located on the river level, will feature a candlelit farmto-table dinner on Saturday evening. The menu will feature organic and locally grown ingredients.

"We are proud to participate in bringing awareness to global sustainability issues," said Robert Thrailkill, general manager, Hilton Palacio del Rio. "We encourage our guests and neighbors to join the initiative."

The River's Edge Café and Patio bar, located on the river level, is featuring a candlelit farmto-table dinner special during this hour.
