Hilton San Francisco Adds Union Square To Its Name To Reflect Its Proximity To The World Famous Location
Environmentally Friendly Hilton San Francisco Union Square Offers Guests an Upscale Experience With Signature Dining, Luxurious Spa, Recently renovated guest rooms and meetings space

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Effective immediately, Hilton San Francisco has added Union Square to its name and will now be officially known as Hilton San Francisco Union Square.
The 1,908-room hotel located at 333 O'Farrell, just two blocks off Union Square in the heart of the city's restaurant, theater, and shopping districts, has also launched a new Web site, www.hiltonsanfranciscohotel.com, to give guests direct access to one of San Francisco's premier hotels.
The Hilton San Francisco Union Square affords easy access to cable cars, Chinatown and North Beach community and is only blocks away from San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and Park, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, and Moscone Center, the city's largest convention and exhibition complex.
"As the largest hotel in proximity to the world-famous Union Square, our new name is a more accurate reflection of our location," said Michael Dunne, General Manager, Hilton San Francisco Union Square. "Union Square is a unique and vibrant community that is a highly desirable destination for leisure and business clientele alike. We are delighted to be an integral part of all that this one-of-a-kind location has to offer," added Dunne.
One of San Francisco's largest hotels, Hilton San Francisco Union Square has demonstrated a commitment to recycling, energy management, goods re-use, composting and water conservation, and reclamation. By fourth quarter 2008 the hotel had successfully recycled 1,955,000 lbs of cardboard, paper, bottles, cans, and electronic waste while achieving a 25 percent reduction in electricity and 26 percent reduction in water usage. Hilton San Francisco Union Square has been named the Corporate Recycler of the Year (CORY) Award Winner for five years and has leadership status for the state of California's Green Lodging association.
Additionally, the hotel offers guests an unforgettable dining experience at Urban Tavern, a modern and elegant place to eat, meet, and drink with 80 percent of menu items, including the wines sourced from within 80 miles of the city. A popular San Francisco destination, Urban Tavern offers guests lunch and dinner menus, special pre-theatre and kid's menus, and two private dining rooms for large groups.
The hotel's day spa, Nourish by Spa Chakra & Health Club, features a 13,000-square-foot spa and wellness center with ten treatment rooms, a hair and nail salon, steam rooms, and was the focus of a recent property-wide $60 million renovation.
The renovation project also touched other areas of the meeting destination hotel including extending $13 million to create the Urban Tavern, a Starbuck's outlet in the lobby, and add 13,600 square feet of meeting space to create the Golden Gate meeting room. The Golden Gate room, which is divisible by eight and has convenient lobby level access, was especially designed to appeal to small to mid-size groups.
