SHANGHAI -  Having won over the international tennis community as the Official Partner Hotel of the prestigious Tennis Masters Cup (TMC) from 2004 to 2008, Hilton Shanghai scores additional honour as the official Prestige Sponsor of the larger-scale Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters 1000, which is scheduled to be held for the first time in Asia at the Shanghai Qi Zhong Tennis Centre from 10 to 18 October 2009.

The creation of the Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 resulted from the ATP and the Chinese Tennis Association's desire to develop the market of tennis in China. With more than 100 of the world’s top male tennis players competing in 99 matches over nine days, the ATP Masters 1000 series will bring world-class tennis back to Shanghai and emerge as the highest profile sporting event to be held in China this year.

Supported by its excellent track record as the Official Hotel Sponsor of the TMC for four years, Hilton Shanghai will provide accommodation for more than 1,000 members of the international tennis community, counting players, coaches, officials, family members, sponsors and dignitaries during the ATP Masters 1000 event. It will also supply catering services for some 80,000 guests at the week- long tournament at the Shanghai Qi Zhong Tennis Center.

Hilton Shanghai General Manager, Guy Hutchinson said, “We are very proud to once again be the official hotel sponsor for this global sporting event. Being the only Masters event in Asia, the Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 is destined to stand out as the flagship event in China and in Asia. It is an ideal occasion for us to showcase our commitment and unparalleled experience in delivering outstanding service. All of us are very much looking forward to doing our very best for the event.”

Renovated Executive Rooms

As one of Hilton Hotels’ longest-standing hotels in Asia, Hilton Shanghai has just completed its multi-million dollar renovation prior to the event. The elegantly designed Executive Rooms provides travellers with utmost luxury and exquisite contemporary Oriental style and access to the stunning 510 sqm

Executive Lounge on level 38. The uniquely designed Grand Ballroom offers comprehensive conference facilities including 2,500 square meters of flexible meeting space in 18 meeting rooms.
Healthy Options Menu

To offer enhanced catering experience to a larger group of guests, Hilton Shanghai has invited a one-star Michelin Italian Chef Igor Macchia from Torino, Italy as the chef for ATP Masters 1000 T ournament.
Backed by rich working experience with various three-star Michelin restaurants, Chef Macchia has successfully endowed traditional cuisine with innovative creations and has best interpreted the idea of “good and healthy” dining philosophy by applying today’s techniques and instruments to gastronomy.

Hutchison added: “At this year’s tennis stadium, guests will be able to feast on excellent Italian gourmet delicacies paired with elaborately selected wines and other appropriate beverages, while indulging in the comfort and appeal of the hotel’s opulent ambience and impeccable service at the stadium.”

A recent survey taken during the Tennis Masters Cup showed that Hilton Shanghai served some of the best food of the ATP circuit, thanks to its organic and gluten-free ingredients, reduced saturated fats, cholesterol, carbohydrate, calorie and trans-fat contents in its regular dining choices.
