Hilton Seychelles Celebrates The ‘Goût de France’ Gastronomic Event

SEYCHELLES - On March 19, 2015 Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa and Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa, will play host to 'La semaine de la francophonie 2015', along with seven other restaurants and hotels in Seychelles, and more than 1,000 restaurants worldwide, welcoming resort patrons and outside guests.

The Goût de France event consists of 1,000 chefs 1,000 menus across five continents," and is the first palpable celebration of French cuisine's recent listing in the "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" category by UNESCO. Chef Sharkey, the classically trained Executive Chef for the cluster Hilton Seychelles Hotels, has created a six course menu showcasing traditional French cuisine and honouring the historical French roots of Seychelles, combined with modern presentation and luxury ingredients, set in breath-taking locations.

The beautifully crafted, bespoke menu draws inspiration from classic French culinary heritage, and includes specialties such as a Trio de Foie Gras, Coquilles St Jacques, and Crepes Suzette. Chef's mastery of traditional techniques and recipes creates a truly delectable taste of France.

Guests can enjoy the Goût de France served under Seychellois skies at Les Cocotiers restaurant in Hilton Seychelles Northolme Report & Spa while looking out on to timeless Beau Vallon Bay, while at Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa the chic lakeside Portobello and stunning views of Mount Dauban provide the perfect backdrop for this degustation. The unique French dining experience is open to all patrons of the resorts at a cost of 300SCR to upgrade from Half Board, as well as to outside guests at 900SCR.

In association with Alliance Francaise, Goût de France will be filming at Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa. The episode's special challenge for the contestants will be to create a traditional French dish with a Creole twist. The food will be then judged by members of a panel including renowned chef Jean-Claude Cleret and a guest judge from the Hilton Seychelles Management Team. This will also be broadcast on the same day of the 'La semaine de la francophonie 2015' event to bring the whole idea of Goût de France, and the celebration of French cuisine together, with the help of Hilton Seychelles.
