Hotel Houses 100 Tennis Players And Caters For 80,000 Fans Attending China’s Most Famous Tennis Championship Event

SHANGHAI - Having won over the international tennis community as the Official Partner Hotel of the prestigious Tennis Masters Cup (TMC) from 2004 to 2009, Hilton Shanghai scores additional honour as the official Prestige Sponsor of the larger-scale Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters 1000, this year as the Shanghai Rolex Masters which was scheduled to be held for the first time in Asia at the Shanghai Qi Zhong Tennis Centre from 09 to 17 October 2010.
The creation of the Shanghai Masters Tournaments resulted from the ATP and the Chinese Tennis Association's desire to develop the market of tennis in China. With more than 100 of the world's top male tennis players competing in 99 matches over nine days, Shanghai Rolex Masters brought world-class tennis back to Shanghai and emerged as the highest profile sporting event be held in China this year.
Supported by its excellent track record as the Official Hotel Sponsor of the TMC for five years, Hilton Shanghai provides accommodation for more than 1,000 members of the international tennis community, counting players, coaches, officials, family members, sponsors and dignitaries during the Shanghai Rolex Masters. It also supplies catering services for some 80,000 guests at the week-long tournament at the Shanghai Qi Zhong Tennis Center.

To offer enhanced catering experience to a larger group of guests, Hilton Shanghai has continually invited a one-star Michelin Italian Chef Igor Macchia from Torino, Italy as the chef for this year Shanghai Rolex Masters.
Backed by rich working experience with various three-star Michelin restaurants, Chef Macchia has successfully endowed traditional cuisine with innovative creations and has best interpreted the idea of "good and healthy" dining philosophy by applying today's techniques and instruments to gastronomy.

2009 Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 was voted the "2009 ATP Masters 1000 Tournament of the Year" award exclusively by the ATP players and is granted to the "Best" of the Nine Masters events staged throughout the year. The Shanghai ATP Masters Organizing Committee won the prestigious annual award this year and recognized Hilton Shanghai as the "Best of the Best" together with other sponsors.
A recent survey taken during the tournament also showed that Hilton Shanghai served some of the best food of the ATP circuit, thanks to its organic and gluten-free ingredients, reduced saturated fats, cholesterol, carbohydrate, calorie and trans-fat contents in its regular dining choices.
