The awards are open to all members of the Tourism Accommodation Australia (NSW) Division, who meet the high standard nomination criteria. Hilton Sydney was a proud finalist in 17 categories.

The prominence of awards received by Hilton Sydney was reflected by the comments of the MC, Deborah Hutton, who informed the room that a guest had suggested to her during the break, that the awards should have been called "The Hilton Awards".
