Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa Recognized At 25th Anniversary Celebrations
June 17, 2014
TORONTO - On Wednesday May 21, Hilton Suites Toronto/Markham Conference Centre & Spa hosted a celebration to remember, in honour of its 25th Anniversary. A spectacular VIP event was created to celebrate the milestone to show the hotel's appreciation and to personally thank clients, partners, suppliers, 25-year health club members, media, family and friends who have made the Hilton Markham what it is today.
Upon registration, guests received a travel passport along with a voucher for a complimentary photo as a souvenir. With grand tours taking place across the entire hotel, guests were able to see everything the hotel has to offer, and after a recent $15 million renovation, there was quite a bit to see. Along the way, guests were able to earn a stamp at every stop for a chance to win a trip for two including hotel and airfare to anywhere in continental U.S. upon full completion.
The tour began in the lobby with the sounds of samba and six Brazilian dancers, a DJ, and an impressive display of International and Domestic cheeses, dips, spreads, olives and beverages at Absolute Atrium Lounge. Guests were then escorted to a VIP luxury suite which had a jazz musician and performance artist to entertain. Next, a spoken word artist greeted and accompanied part of the journey towards the next stop to see the luxurious residential suites at the new extended stay building. There, guests were invited to crash a cocktail party hosted by an acting couple and were treated to some homemade meatballs and explore the other suite types.
The next stop on the tour was eforea: spa at Hilton, which invited guests in to experience the tranquil journey the spa strives to deliver every day. With a beautiful harpist and modern dancer, guests explored the treatment rooms and were given the opportunity to try two exotic black berry sage and green apple and cinnamon spa waters. They were then taken to the hair salon where they were greeted by another talented performance artist, informing everyone on all the wonderful services available as well as provide guests with a delicious (and edible) chocolate raspberry lipstick.
The tour continued through Club Markham fitness where there was a steel pan musician, self-defense martial arts demonstration and complimentary pineapple ginger smoothies. Next, guests were given a backstage pass to the second floor to see various set ups in the new meeting space from a boardroom to VIP dinner set up. There was also a poi dance performer and chef attended sizzling Cajun shrimp station along the way to keep guest entertained.
Guests were then invited to get the party started at a Parisian-themed cocktail reception. A floor to ceiling mural of the Eiffel Tower, park benches, street lamps, acrobatics, paintings including a live painting demonstration, complimentary wine and the aroma of lattes, espressos and cappuccinos filled the air from a made to order coffee cart. Meanwhile, laughter and excitement was brewing as guests got into character with feather boas for a photo shoot with picture printed and framed on-site as a souvenir.
As the conference centre doors opened, the emcee opened the evening with formal remarks. Notable VIP guests were in attendance including Mr. Gary Steffen, VP of Global Brand Performance - Hilton Hotels & Resorts, who presented a 25 Year Achievement Award; Victor de Vries, Director of Regional Brand Marketing Canada & NE U.S.; Vito Curalli, Director of Sales Canada, Latin America and International Sales; and Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, who also presented an award to Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa President, Mr. Herman Grad for his contributions to the City of Markham. Following the thought-felt speeches by Markham's Mayor Frank Scarpitti and General Manager Patrick Regina, Mr. Herman Grad offer gracious and inspiring words.
The rest of the evening included a live musical performance, acro-balance duet, grand prize trip draw and raffle giveaways. Guest were in for a culinary experience with Interactive food stations from homemade potato gnocchi; ahi tuna with pickle ginger and cucumber relish; Chardonnay poached lobster in a lobster bisque with egg cluster; seafood paella; salmon coulibiac; shrimp and pork wontons; wild mushroom risotto; sweet pickle chilli marinated lamp chops; lobster salad with fennel and orange segments presented on a bone marrow; chilled strawberry soup with mojito granite; oven roasted beef strip loin and a immaculate display of French macaroons, petit fours, panna cotta, crème brûlée, cheesecake lollipops, cake pops and much more.
