WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Hilton Waikoloa Village is thrilled to announce spectacular new additions to the Legends of HawaiʻI Our Big Island Story lūʻau beginning April 12, 2013. Brought to you by Tihiati Productions, this unforgettable dinner show celebrates the remarkable stories and the extraordinary people famed for their amazing feats of battle, romance and expertise across the South Pacific. Taking place at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at Hilton Waikoloa Village's Kamehameha Court, the updated Big Island lūʻau will showcase new costumes, exciting interactive stations, and fascinating Legends of Hawaiʻi stories.

Beginning with a traditional chant in tribute to one of Hawaiʻi's most prominent chiefs, Kamehameha Nui, Legends of Hawaiʻi lūʻau will feature new stories that highlight the history of the Hawaiian Islands. Both Waiomina Cowboys, dressed in traditional vaquero-style clothing and flower-covered slouch hats, and Hawaiian fishermen characters will join the show, transporting guests back to ancient times when residents completely lived off of the land. The Flames of Fire drumming and dance performance of the Pacific will enthrall guests as the performers ignite torches into blazing flames, engaging in an upbeat coed number full of pulsating drum beats.

Providing entertainment for all ages, the interactive stations will include both Kapa Stamping and Coconut Husking. In the spirit of Hawaiian kapa, guests at the Kapa Stamping station will be able to print their own bookmarks using ancient tools such as the ‘ohe kapala and Hawaiian bamboo stamps. As the coconut is a staple to the Polynesian diet, a coconut artisan will demonstrate the skill of husking, opening, and processing of the coconut from liquid to milk as it has been prepared for hundreds of years.

Still included in Waikoloa's lūʻau experience are crowd favorite showcase pieces such as the legend of Poliʻahu, traditional hulas and ti leaf skirts of Hawaiʻi celebrating the Big Island's notorious mountaintops, and the lively drum beats of Hawaiʻi's Tahitian ancestors. Tickets for The Legends of Hawaiʻi - Our Big Island Story lūʻau are $109 for adults, $99 for kama'aina, and $54 for children. Ticket prices include two cocktails (or kiddie cocktails), dinner buffet, show, self-parking and gratuity and are available at www.hiltonwaikoloavillage.com.
