BEIJING - The Hilton Worldwide portfolio of hotels & resorts in Hawaii and Hilton Beijing, together with Hawaiian Airlines have unveiled plans today for a "Fly Me To Hawaii" promotion to take place in Beijing August 23 to 29, 2014. The week will consist of a number of consumer and trade events to promote the Hawaiian Islands, Hilton Worldwide and Hawaiian Airlines' new direct service from Beijing to Honolulu.

The tastes, sights and sounds of Hawaii will be celebrated throughout the week at Hilton Beijing's Elements and One East restaurants. Patrons attending the events will be able to sample the renowned Hawaiian Regional Cuisine created by Jeffrey Vigilla, executive chef, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Chef Vigilla's menus will include such island-inspired dishes as Hawaiian pipi kaula (smoked beef); lomi lomi salmon (salted raw salmon); poke (seasoned seafood); huli huli chicken (grilled rotisserie chicken); pulehu shortribs (barbecue ribs). Diners will have a chance to win trips to Hawaii including roundtrip air on Hawaiian Airlines and accommodations at Hilton Worldwide properties in Hawaii. Lucky drawings for Hawaii themed gifts will also take place throughout the week.

"The Hawaii cuisine will be a great addition to our restaurant offerings," said Stefan Schmid, general manager, Hilton Beijing. "We know our guests as well as locals will enjoy the flavors of Hawaii and the different types of foods that the chef will prepare."

Participating in the promotion with Hilton Beijing are Hawaii general managers and sales executives from Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort; Hilton Waikoloa Village; DoubleTree By Hilton Alana Waikiki; Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort; Hilton WaikikiBeach; Hokulani Waikiki by Hilton Grand Vacations and Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk. Jerry Gibson, area vice president, Hilton Hawaii and Jon Conching, regional vice
president of sales and marketing, Hilton Hawaii will also be on hand for the events.

"We are thrilled to be a partner with Hawaiian Airlines and Hilton Beijing in this huge initiative for Hawaii, "said Jerry Gibson, area vice president, Hilton Hawaii. "The entire world is trying to woo Chinese travelers and we want to make sure Hawaii is top of mind for them."

Like their sister hotels, Hilton Worldwide's Hawaii properties feature the Huanying program, which includes many services and amenities to help make Chinese visitors feel welcome. Special buffet items, tea kettles in the rooms and other services are included in the program.

As part of the "Fly Me to Hawaii" promotion, shoppers visiting Solana Mall on Saturday 23 August will be able to participate in a number of fun and interactive games and displays. Patrons will be able to take photos of themselves in cutouts featuring surfing, red lava and hula dancers. When they post their photos to their social media channels and tag the post, they will receive a gift at the Hawaiian gift shop set up at the mall. They also will have a chance to win trips to Hawaii with roundtrip air provided by Hawaiian Airlines and accommodations at Hilton Worldwide's Hawaii hotels. Entertainment will be provided by the talented dancers and musicians from the Polynesian Cultural Center. Hawaii flyers with helpful destination and hotel information will be handed out that day.
