QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand - Both Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa as well as DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown recently held a cheque presentation ceremony to gift donations to Frankton Fire Brigade.

Through the generous donations and fundraising programmes of Hilton team members across 2014, a combined cheque of $9,960 was presented to Queenstown Frankton Fire Brigade. Annual fundraising events such as the Kawarau Village Summer Celebration, quiz nights, eforea: spa cookie fundraisers, hotel movie nights, various sporting events and festive drives all contributed to the end result.

Chris Ehmann, general manager, Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa and DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown, said, "We are thrilled to be able to make a contribution to help improve the Frankton Fire Brigade and their significant responsibilities within our Queenstown community."

The donation will be used to maintain the provision of a support vehicle that transports teams to emergency scenes for the next three to four years.

Karl Argyle, station officer, Frankton Fire Brigade, said, "This contribution will go such a long way to help aid our operations and fundraising efforts."

These two Queenstown hotels select a charity each year to focus charitable efforts in the hope to make a true difference to the cause. It is part of Hilton Worldwide's commitment to its Travel With Purpose program, a worldwide pledge to create shared value across local communities.
