GOLD COAST, Australia - In demand Melbourne fashion designer Patti Ainalis has unveiled her latest creations for the soon-to-be-opened Hilton Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. With more than 20 years in the design and tailoring industries, Patti Ainalis is the primary designer for the “PC Corporate” label, which has developed a reputation for designing and manufacturing uniforms for some of the country’s biggest names in the hospitality industry.

Floaty ocean blue blouses with slit sleeves, wool blend pants, and relaxed shirting feature in the Hilton Surfers Paradise collection. Designed to reflect the relaxed beach tourism destination, the uniforms redefine hospitality attire said Patti, who has designed uniforms for Lang Ham Hotel Melbourne and Crown Casino.

“We wanted the reception staff, housekeeping and even security to look as though they too were on a relaxing beach holiday,” Patti said. “Rather than formal, structured lines, we opted for floaty, yet tailored uniforms that were inspired by the unique hotel and its surroundings. “Our female reception uniforms will definitely turn heads - think glamour meets chic beach wear. It’s relaxed yet refined. “The striking blue three quarter length sleeves feature shoulder to elbow slits creating a relaxed silhouette. “Blue head scarves that drape to the waist are reminiscent of glamorous French Riviera resort wear. It’s chic and relaxed.”

Patti was chosen from a field of potential designers for her ability to reflect the lifestyle of the Gold Coast. Hilton Surfers Paradise General Manager David Kelly said Patti’s experience in design for the hospitality industry made her the perfect designer for the unique uniforms. “Not only has Patti been designing fashion for more than 20 years, she has previously created uniforms for Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, giving her a great insight into the company and our expectations,” Mr Kelly said. “It was important for our uniforms to reflect the laid-back, relaxed lifestyle of the Gold Coast, while keeping with the sophistication of the Hilton brand.” Stage One of the $700 million hotel and residences, the Boulevard Tower, will comprise 134 residences managed by Hilton, while the Orchid Tower, featuring a Hilton Hotel and additional residences is due to be completed in mid-2011.

Hilton Surfers Paradise is the first global five-star equivalent hotel to be built on the Gold Coast since 2000. It is also the first hotel and residential apartment complex to be opened by Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Australia. Hilton Surfers Paradise is located in the heart of Surfers Paradise just one block from the iconic Surfers Paradise Beach and in close proximity to restaurants, bars and upmarket shopping areas.
