CHICAGO -  Taking a disciplined approach on eco-friendly matters, Chicago landmark hotel The Palmer House Hilton was recently rewarded for its conscious efforts in improving its environmental performance with a Green Seal Bronze Level certification. The achievement was met after cognizant strides were made to help conserve energy and minimize waste at the historic property.

"The Palmer House Hilton is dedicated to utilizing sustainable practices to create an extraordinary experience for our guests and to impact the environment in a positive way," says General Manager Dean Lane. "It is extremely gratifying for the Palmer House Hilton to be named the largest Green Seal Certified Hotel in Chicago."

Seeking a significant change, The Palmer House Hilton instituted a "Green Team" to help spearhead effective initiatives through its employees and sustain able policies and practices. The coveted seal was earned after a rigorous science-based evaluation and plant visit tested the property in five main areas: excelling in corporate accountability; maintaining aggressive goals on key social and environmental sectors; making effective and accountable supplier-managed practices; enduring in scientific assessments of key product lines; and meeting ambitious requirements for third-party certification of your company's products.
