The Beverly Hilton Executive Chefs Unveil The 69th Annual Golden Globe® Award Show Menu

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - What will the celebrities be dining on come Sunday, January 15, 2012 for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 69th Annual GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS? Local fare with a universal flare created by The Beverly Hilton Executive Hotel Chef, Suki Sugiura and Executive Pastry Chef, Thomas Henzi.
On Thursday, January 5, 2012 Executive Chefs, Suki and Henzi unveiled the menu the created for The 69th Annual GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS show which will be served to nearly 1,300 of Hollywood's film stars and filmmakers. Home of the GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS for total of 41 times and for the last 37 consecutive years, The Beverly Hilton's legendary International Ballroom will be the scene where celebrities will be seen accepting their awards airing live on Sunday, January 15, 2012 on NBC.
The Executive Chefs designed a menu that harmonizes the local ingredients from the Golden State of California with the global flavors synonymous with the excitement of the global awards show including an appetizer of pistachio crusted pistou ravioli with wild arugula, smoked tomato, kabocha compote and burrata; a combination entrée of miso and sake lees marinated Pacific sea bass with grilled king oyster mushroom and braised prime short rib of beef with porcini pine nut herb ragout in a light cream of sherry wine ginger tamari sauce, roasted fingerling potatoes, candy striped beets, baby bok choy and yellow baby carrots followed by a dessert trio of chocolate delice almond crunch terrine with acacia honey, caramel and fresh berries which pairs deliciously with the Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2002. "In keeping with the tradition of the annual global awards show, I again have designed a menu with respect to the global audience of artists nominated and guests. This year's cuisine will harmonize the local ingredients from California with the universal flavors synonymous with the excitement of the international awards show," said Executive Chef, Suki Sugiura.
The planning process spans approximately six months from design and development to execution on awards show day with a culinary staff of almost 200. The 2012 edition will be Chef Henzi's second show. "I saw first-hand how the chocolate melts in their mouths, not in their hands seconds before show time and requests for second helpings between commercial breaks," said Henzi.
Come show day, the global inspired cuisine will be as fulfilling as The 69th Annual GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS show itself.
