UPDATE: Hilton Worldwide Properties In Hawaii Respond To Tsunami Conditions - 6:45 p.m.ET, 2/27/10

HONOLULU and MCLEAN, Va. - 6:45 p.m. ET, 2/27/10 -  At 1:33 p.m. Hawaii time today (6:33 p.m. EST) Hawaii State Civil Defense issued an official "all clear" announcement. Despite this, it was strongly recommended by Civil Defense that people stay away from the beach and out of the water for several hours as unusual tidal conditions may still exist.

Tsunami wave activity was reported throughout the state of Hawaii, with the highest surge measured at Kahului, Maui at just over three feet.

Hilton Worldwide hotels and resorts in Hawaii worked closely with government officials throughout the day as the safety of its guests and team members is always top priority. Emergency evacuation plans were initiated at all properties in Hawaii. There were no injuries.

The tsunami waves were generated by an 8.8-magnitude earthquake off Chile's coast at 8:34 p.m. Hawaii time February 26 and reached Hawaii at approximately 11:05 a.m. (4:05 p.m. EST).
