SINGAPORE - Hilton Singapore today announced that two of its restaurants, the award-winning Italian restaurant Il Cielo and Glow Juice Bar & Café, will be participating in the Sustainable Seafood Festival which takes place from June 8 to 15, 2014. Organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) Singapore, this week-long festival brings on board some of Singapore's most popular restaurants, hotels and supermarkets to collectively raise awareness and promote sustainable seafood options to the general populace.

"This festival presents a great opportunity for people to learn about the importance of making sustainable seafood choices while enjoying our chefs' exceptional culinary talents," Peter Webster, general manager, Hilton Singapore. "This meaningful participation is one of the ways the hotel supports the Living Sustainably pillar of Hilton Worldwide's corporate responsibility strategy, Travel with Purpose TM."

Elaine Tan, CEO, WWF-Singapore said: "Hilton Worldwide's recent announcement that it has ceased serving shark fin across all its Asia Pacific properties is a significant step forward for the sustainable seafood movement. We are pleased to welcome a committed partner like Hilton Singapore to be part of our inaugural Sustainable Seafood Festival. Together, the industry and consumers can make a collective step to promote seafood sustainability and ensure a healthy ocean for our future generations."

Guided by WWF-Singapore, the restaurant chefs created special promotional menus using Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified sustainable seafood items.Recommended dishes from il Cielo include Salmon Tartare served with Watermelon, Marjoram and Raspberries Vinaigrette; Creamed Atlantic Cod Fish served with Polenta and Chanterelle mushrooms; Lemon Tagliolini served with Prawns and Light Peperoncino and Hake fillet with fresh Arrabbiata sauce.
