It’s beginning to look a lot like…gingerbread! Set in the midst of the lighted winter wonderland of ’Tis the Season, over 2.5 tons and 7.6 million calories of sugary confection await holiday travelers. Hilton Americas-Houston Pastry Chef Mahesh Weerasinghe and Sous Pastry Chef Glenna Artripe, along with the hotel’s property operations team, have created a holiday gingerbread display that would tempt even Hansel and Gretel.
The season of sparkle is upon us! The already-upscale Hilton Americas-Houston lobby, decorated with rich hardwoods and inlaid marble mosaic floors, takes it up a step this holiday season with the addition of ’Tis the Season, an indoor lighted winter wonderland. The festively-decked lobby features traditional seasonal décor, presented in elegant fashion featuring thousands of twinkling, sparkling lights.
Santa Claus is coming to town and he’s sweeter than ever this year. Hilton Americas-Houston Pastry Chef Mahesh Weerasinghe has teamed up with returning Pastry Chef Glenna Artripe to create a holiday chocolate display that will turn visions of sugar plums into visions of chocolate!
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and he’s back this year bigger, better than ever and chocolate! Award-winning Hilton Americas-Houston’s Pastry Chef Mahesh Weerasinghe, trained by one of only 13 Master Chefs in the U.S., once again showcases his advanced culinary skills with a one-ton larger-than-life chocolate display featuring Santa Claus and his elves busy at work on Christmas Eve. New to the display this year are a third elf and two reindeer, complete with Rudolph’s chocolate red nose.
