Hilton Phuket Brings Back The Smiles To The Kids

PHUKET, Thailand - In the spirit of giving back to the community, Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa team members visited children at Koh Lone Island school on 27th January and spent a day with the children there and volunteering their services at the school.
“At Hilton Phuket, we are committed to doing our part for the community and this activity has given us the perfect opportunity to enrich the lives of the children at Koh Lone Island School,” said Andre A Gomez, General Manager, Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa.
A total of 35 team members from the hotel spent the day painting the one-storey classroom, cutting the grass, repairing the children’s playground and cleaning the school’s canteen. Donations of school uniforms, books and stationary from the hotel were also well-received by the school children. To round up the day’s activities, team members interacted with 19 students from the school through a series of games and activities created by Hilton Phuket’s training department. This event brought great joy and smiles and happiness to the students at Koh Lone island school.
Located 20-minutes away by boat on the southeast island of Phuket, Koh Lone Island is the second largest island in the province of Phuket after Phuket Island itself. It is also known as Koh Lohn or Lon Island, and is mainly populated by friendly Muslim communities that make a living from fishing, rubber tree plantations and coconut plantations. With the small population of 200 people, there is only one government school available on the island. The school has three teachers and the total of 19 students from Grade 1 till Grade 6.
