Malta - Damian Muscat, a barman at Hilton Malta and an acclaimed Maltese cocktail maker has placed 2^nd at the IBA (International Bartenders Association) World Cocktail Championship. Held in Warsaw, Poland during the 60^th IBA Congress in April, the World Cocktail Championship was contested by a total of 57 countries. Using his original recipe 'Highway to Heaven' Mr Muscat won the silver medal in the Fancy World Cocktail Championship finals and was also proclaimed the overall silver medallist World Cocktail Champion.

Founded in the U.K. in 1951, the International Bartenders Association's aim is to represent the world's best bartenders. Damian Muscat was accompanied by a Maltese delegation from the Maltese Bartenders Guild which included its president Joe Farrugia. Mr Muscat was first runner up to the overall winner, Takafumi Yamada from Japan.

Hilton Malta wishes to congratulate Damian Muscat for his continued success in cocktail competitions on a national as well as an international level.
